JACK KIRBY ART OF THE DAY

Here's a page from Jack's adaptation of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY. This epic comic book was first (and to date, only) published in Marvel's over-sized Treasury Edition format. I'd love to see this one reprinted in a size that will easily fit on my shelf but it looks like the reprint rights aren't currently owned by Marvel. I'm still not sure that Kirby was the best artist for this project but when it comes to illustrating cosmic wonderment, it's awfully hard to beat The King.
